Closing The Gaps In Asthma Care This World Asthma Day
Asthma is one of the major global health crises. According to WHO, 2,50,000 people die premature deaths due to Asthma, every year. In India, this disorder claims around 10 lives, daily. It is also the most common chronic disorder found in children. If not managed properly, it can be life-threatening.
Asthma cannot be cured. Avoiding triggers, strengthening immunity, and taking proper medication can help in managing asthma attacks. However, most middle or lower income countries face challenges with regards to under-diagnosis and under-treatment of Asthma due to limited medical resources and lack of awareness.
To combat challenges like these and reduce the global occurrence of deaths due to asthma attacks, Global Initiative For Asthma (GINA) organizes “World Asthma Day” each year. The initiative of World Asthma Day 2022 is ‘Closing Gaps In Asthma Care’. The gaps related to equal access to diagnosis and management of asthma, proper care for all socio-economic groups, facilitating smooth communication and information flow about asthma, equipping health care practitioners (HCPs), etc. are aimed to be covered.
We at OMRON, wish to come forward and partner with international health communities, HCPs, patients, hospitals, and clinics to contribute our bit in closing gaps in asthma care by spreading awareness about the ways and means to identify triggers and managing asthma. This year, we wish to raise awareness around the management of asthma with nebulization therapy.
Nebulizer therapy can offer quick and effective relief from Asthma. It also plays an important role in the preventive care of Asthma. Besides asthma, home nebulizing therapy is a pragmatic way of managing many other respiratory disorders.
With the help of a nebulizer, medication can be easily transformed into mist and directly administered into the lungs of the patient. This offers them quick relief. As mentioned earlier, besides Asthma, people use nebulizers to treat/manage conditions like cold and cough, COPD, Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchitis, Seasonal allergies etc. With a nebulizer, combinations of drugs can also be offered.
Compact MESH Nebulizers are effective even when the patient is traveling, due to its lightweight & compact design.Unlike metered dose inhalers, nebulizers are easy-to-use and can be operated conveniently by people of any age group. Furthermore, the disparity in both diagnosis and treatment can be overcome with regular doctor consultations as relying on nebulizers solely will only be half the job done.
Begin Your Nebulizing Therapy With OMRON. We lead the market in the home healthcare segment. Our nebulizer devices enable effective administration of medication as they are developed in compliance with the strictest quality standards. OMRON nebulizers are aimed to minimize the wastage of medication and provide moist of appropriate particle size for effective nebulization.
Defeat asthma by preventing and educating family, friends, and workers about the symptoms related to asthma. Celebrate World Asthma Day with OMRON this year.
